Start with sweeping island and ocean views from Jumanyama Observation Point before setting sail on an exciting wild dolphin-watching cruise. Continue to Shimabara Castle, an elegant white fortress filled with stories and artefacts from Japan’s feudal past. Later, journey towards Nagasaki and wind down with a comforting hot-spring cuisine set dinner.
Discover Nagasaki’s fascinating blend of East and West, beginning at Glover Garden, where European-style residences overlook the harbour. Continue to the historic Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum – A deeply moving museum that shares the history of the atomic bombing and Nagasaki’s enduring message of peace before pausing for reflection at Nagasaki Peace Park, an enduring symbol of peace and hope. Next, follow the tempting aromas into Nagasaki Chinatown and savour the city’s famous Champon noodles. As night falls, ride up Mount Inasa and get ready for the showstopper—a dazzling “10-million-dollar night view” glittering across the harbour.
Ready for some retail therapy? Hunt for bargains from popular international and Japanese brands at Tosu Premium Outlets. Then, slow things down at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, where graceful bridges, ancient camphor trees and seasonal scenery create a distinctly Japanese atmosphere. End the day at Canal City Hakata, Fukuoka’s lively shopping and entertainment landmark. Browse, dine or simply enjoy the colourful fountain displays before returning to your hotel.
Fukuoka is yours today! Spend the day shopping around Tenjin and Hakata, hunting for local favourites, café-hopping or discovering the city at your own pace. When evening comes, why not dine like a local at one of Fukuoka’s famous yatai street-food stalls?
